Sacha Jafri

Have you heard of Sacha Jafri before this assignment? His name is very familiar but I don't think I've heard of him before today.

What are your thoughts on his work? What are your thoughts on this mission? His style of art doesn't really interest me a ton, though I think it may feel different in real life since his most recent work is so large and the size of the piece is so monumental. I think his "mission" seems like a great one, a good way to bring people together for a common cause and raise money at the same time.

How can you use Jafri's art in your classroom? What lessons could you teach with his art? I think Jafri's work would be interesting to use in a group or full-class project, creating an installation that brings the students together for a common goal. The idea of "community" comes up a lot in his work and is something that feels even more important to talk about now than ever before, while students and adults are getting used to being back in the classroom.
